WE BELIEVE IN CHANGE

The brainchild of Late Mrs. Shama Habib, Ekta was an ideology germinated with a belief that each of us must contribute to make this world a better place. In her own words “A world where social change via education can empower every child to have greater control over his life in adulthood.” This vision in place Shama Habib banded together a committed group of women to help make this dream feasible. We the Ekta team believe in a collective synergy to reach a common goal and thus partner with like-minded NGO’s who are working at grass root levels and share our vision. EKTA truly stands for Education and Knowledge Towards Awareness.

Our dedication to nurturing children’s inherent desire to learn has enabled us to support several projects in South Asia. These projects are visited by us annually at our personal expense to ensure that the money given to Ekta is well utilised and closely monitored.

The Ekta Foundation is a registered Charity in the UK and we aim to transform the lives of underprivileged children in South Asian countries by providing for avenues of Education and Knowledge. Our mission is to educate as many children as we can in slums and marginalised communities, to give them a fighting chance to live dignified lives. Education doubtless helps each one of them make valuable contributions uplifting their families and communities to a fairer and more equal society.

We raise funds through the generous donations of socially conscious and philanthropic individuals and corporations. Annually we hold fund raising events and workshops, the proceeds of which are contributed to The Ekta Foundation. Administrative expenses are kept to the minimum ensuring maximum funds are disbursed to our educational projects.
